Focus on Economic Cooperation Between Macedonia and India
A high-level working meeting was held last month at the premises of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia between Chamber President Branko Azeski and the Ambassador of India based in Sofia, H.E. Arun Kumar Sahu. The Ambassador was accompanied by a delegation of Indian business representatives, and discussions focused on ways to expand economic cooperation, with particular emphasis on India’s potential as a BRICS member and a global leader in high technology and market scale.
President Azeski underlined the importance of positioning North Macedonia and the Western Balkans as strategic partners to India in a regional context, especially through joint participation in international fairs and by promoting exports. Ambassador Sahu confirmed India’s growing interest in enhancing economic activity in the region, highlighting key sectors such as health tourism, the chemical industry, and workforce mobility. He also announced the possibility of organizing an official business visit of Macedonian companies to India this fall.
