The guarantee that Macedonia is receiving from the United Kingdom for lending carries significant weight for the overall stability of the country and the region, as the United Kingdom is an important global player, both politically and economically. For such a country to guarantee certain funds for our state means that it stands behind us, and this is a meaningful incentive for both political stabilization and economic activity. On the economic front, every investment activity is welcome, because without it, the two main principles of business cannot be fulfilled: companies making a profit, and citizens improving their standard of living, said the Chamber President in his statement on the investment climate.
Azeski also emphasized the state's capacity to utilize the funds offered under the guarantee, as well as the capacity of domestic companies to engage in investment activities. He pointed out that the Economic Chamber is currently fully focused on helping companies become capable of participating seamlessly in such efforts, and that for every new challenge firms may encounter, the Chamber will actively seek solutions.
"For example, when it comes to the joint participation of companies in international tenders, we are building and initiating the formation of consortia," said President Azeski. "And in education tailored to the needs of the business community, we are working on developing a workforce that meets the requirements of companies. We are also supporting companies in their joint appearances on third markets, in developing joint products, and in boosting export activity."
"The railway is a festering wound in Macedonian infrastructure," added the President of the Economic Chamber, "and we are located along a corridor with a key transit position—connecting Central Europe and the Mediterranean with the Near East. We are the only ones left who still have a higher cost for truck transport than for rail."
